Spreading over an area of 6,259 sq km, the Purulia district in West Bengal remains the westernmost region of the state. Paschim Medinipur, Bankura, Bokaro, Bardhaman, Ranchi are some of the places with which the place shares its boundaries.
Baghmundi – the administrative segment of Purulia Sadar West subdivision of Purulia district remains one of the major attractions of this region. This place acts as a charming diversion for tourists with its serenity, uneven topography, falls, rivers, diverse flora and fauna, dense vegetation etc. In short, it is an absolute delight for nature lovers. So a trip to West Bengal virtually remains incomplete without a visit to this wondrous paradise of picturesque beauty and charm. Bamni Falls remains one of the major attractions of this place.
The falls is located near Bareria village and is flanked by charming landscape and greenery. It makes for a perennial falls. Bamni remains a major draw in Baghmundi along with other attractions like:
- Charida village
- Suisa (museum)
- Gaghkocha Falls

Why Should You Visit Bamni Falls?
I can say, from my personal experience that Bamni is definitely worth a visit (that is if you’re venturing out to Purulia anytime soon) simply owing to its sheer natural beauty and landscape. Do not make the mistake of excluding this one from your itinerary.
How to Reach Baghmundi
Purulia itself does not have a bus stand. The nearest option is Bokaro and some of the major cities are connected to it via trains. You can also avail the flight route to the Ranchi airport.
