Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary

Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary is in Burdwan district in West Bengal. Ramnabagan Mini Zoo in the Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary spread over an area of 14.31 hectares.
This Wildlife Sanctuary was declared as reserved forest in 1960.

In 1978, this Sanctuary had been started as a deer park with six spotted deer and later it was declared as a wildlife sanctuary.

How to reach


Ramna garden is located at a distance of about 4 km. from Burdwan rail station at Golapbag. It is about only 50m from G.T. Road commonly known as NH-2 or Durgapur
expressway. Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary is very well connected to Kolkata though both highways or rails.

Attractions


Spotted deer as known as chital, common langur and Blackbuck can be spotted here. The mini zoo inside this sanctuary is a major attraction too. Leopard, Sloth Bear,
Crocodile, Peafowl, Adjutant Stork, Rosy Pelican, Parakits, Cuckoos, Storks, Snakes, Mongooses, Owls, Spotted Dove can be seen in the zoo. This is an old plantation of
tropical deciduous plantation created by Maharaj of Burdwan.
