Bibhutibhusan Wildlife Sanctuary also known as Parmadan Forest is located in North 24 Parganas in West Bengal. It is located on beside Ichamati river and covering an area is 0.68 square km. This is also famous for its children’s park and small zoo. A tourist lodge belongs to forest department of West Bengal is famous for weekends.
How to reach
Nearest bus stop is Naldugari. You can reach though bus route Bongaon-Helencha-Duttafulia ( 92 no route) and the forest is located about 100 km from Kolkata and 25 km from Bongaon. It takes only 1 hour to reach Parmadan forest from Bongaon.
Attractions
This wildlife sanctuary is famous for more than 200 deer, birds, rabbit, python and a large number of langurs. It is also famous for children’s park, zoo and the lodge run by forest department of West Bengal. This is also famous for picnic. History of Bibhutibhusan Wildlife Sanctuary
This sanctuary started its journey with 14 deer (chital) in 1964. In 1980 it was named as “Parmadan” when it was declared as wildlife sanctuary. In 1995 this sanctuary has been renamed as Bibhutibhusan Wildlife Sanctuary.
