Sobuj Dwip (Green Island)
The Sobuj Dwip or Green Island is an island on the Ganges. It is maintained and looked after by the Hoogly Zilla Parishad which also took the initiative to promote the place as a tourist destination. Reaching the island is an adventure in itself. You have to disembark at the Shomrabazar station on the Howah-Katwa route and then take a ferry from the Ganges ghat to the island. Chandur Forest, Arambagh
Located on the banks of the Dwarakeswar River, in Arambagh, thick forest surrounds the place from all sides. Visitors may spot wild animals as the place has a wild life preservation center. It covers an area of 153 acres and has the thick growth of the Sal, the Teak, the Silk Cotton and the Sandalwood trees. Buses are available for Arambagh from the Kolkata. After reaching Arambagh, one has to board a bus to reach the Chandur Bhatar More (Crossing). It takes few minutes to reach the picnic spot from the crossing.

Chupir Bil
Chupir Bil is a small pond located in Purbasthali in Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Chupir Bil or Chupir Char as it is known by many local people is a bird watcher’s paradise. It is a fantastic place for a day’s visit and indulging in picnic. The best time is of course the winter season when you will be able to spot many birds local as well as migratory in the area. The Great Crested Grebe was spotted at Chupir Bil a few days back. Boating facility is also provided there.

Malancha
Located in Rasulpur in Bardhaman, Malancha has become a famous holiday picnic spot for the local residents as well as for people traveling from other parts of Bengal. It is a nature park which offers blissful ambiance to the picnickers amidst lush greenery. The park covers an area of 45 acres and can be reached easily from Kolkata through the highway with a 1.5 hours drive. It is only 96 kilometers from the city and 5 minutes walk from Rasulpur railway station. Damodar River

108 Shiva Temple
These temples were built by the wife of king Tilak Chand in 1789. It is said that these got instruction from God to build these temples. It locates in Nawabhat and during Shivaratri a week longs fair takes place. The place gets overcrowded during this time of the year. garpanchkotGarh Panchkot
Garh Pachkot is a popular picnic spot and weekend getaway for tourists around the country. Garh Panchkot is blessed with natural abundance and a fantastic climate.     The main tourist spot in maithon is maithon dam and famous maa kalyaneswari mandir is just walking distance. Maithon dam situated on barakar river. This dam was specially designed for flood control and generates electric power. There is an underground power station. Panchet dam is around 20km from maa kalyaneswari lodge.Now a days there is a sanke park just go down from panchet dam.
    Maa kalyaneswari temple is one of the most holly sights near maithon. Located at the bank of barakar river .This temple is often known for its legends.while the original temple existed from a time which is unknown,but the recent structure was built near 500 B.C old of Shakti worship. According to legend, human sacrifices were offered at the Kalyaneshwari temple. It is believed by the local people that Goddess Kalyaneshwari fulfils the wishes of childless women.maa kalyaneswari mainly kali mandir. It’s a good place to travel with friends. The silent river says it’s all. You can do little bit of boating also in the river.
